Reverend Dr. Holly Bonner is an award-winning interfaith minister, distinguished mental health professional, college professor, and accomplished writer. After a challenging battle with breast cancer led to her becoming legally blind in 2012, Dr. Bonner has seamlessly integrated her profound personal experiences into her professional life, enhancing her impactful work in spirituality and mental health.

Dr. Bonner holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Metropolitan College of New York and a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University. Recognizing the need to incorporate spirituality into her mental health practice, she pursued further education at New York Theological Seminary (NYTS), earning a Master’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling (MAPCC) and a Doctorate in Ministry (DMin).

In 2022, Dr. Bonner was honored with the Armour Lewis full academic scholarship at Union Theological Seminary’s Episcopal Divinity School (EDS), where she earned her fourth master’s degree in Sacred Theology (STM). Her academic research focuses on disability culture and interfaith communities, areas where she has made significant scholarly contributions.

Dr. Bonner currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Staten Island and as a Commissioner for the New York City Civic Engagement Commission. Her contributions to community service and academia are complemented by her presence in the classroom and pulpit alongside her guide dog, Teagan, a devoted three-year-old German Shepherd.
