How our graduates are utilizing their interfaith knowledge in the community.
AFSI 2014 Alum Rev. Dr. Ruth Diones discusses her career and progress thus far in the challenging area of Hospice and Hospital Chaplain Care. As an interfaith minister following the example of A Course in Miracles, Ruth is making her own way in a field that had not really had a niche for that orientation, and she is connecting with patients and staff along the way!
Insights and experience from a student’s own practice, both as a Chaplain and as a Mediator, especially on the importance of language, words, and active listening in communication.
Emily Boardman “Are You Ready??” (and in-depth exploration)
Emily Boardman (class of 2012) was the keynote speaker and her talk was a rich and in-depth exploration of many nuances of meaning that the phrase “Are You Ready?” can have for new ministers. She fleshed out the many possibilities and ramifications of readiness in spiritual life, and as ministers, how people might react to us in that role, and how to cultivate our readiness to rise to the task. Her talk was inspirational and highly motivational.
Students and faculty shared and Emily responded as well.
